Loren's Endoscopy

Loren had her procedure done today...a scope down the throat into the small intestine to take a biopsy and for the doc to look around in there.

She did well, and it was a fairly short procedure..so that was good. The doctor came out with pictures in hand to show us of her insides...and sure enough, her intestines didn't look normal. Celiac patients don't have normal villi in the intestines like a healthy person...so based on his observation, she will have Celiac disease. We'll know 100% when the biopsy comes back in a week. At that point we'll meet with a dietician and learn how to really do a gluten free diet for her. Clay and I also have to get tested now, and they'll test Camryn after she's been on wheat for 6 months.

Thank you to everyone who was praying today for her...as a parent, you never like to put your child under anesthesia and through these things...so we are thankful it's behind us, and we are optimistic about the future.
