Saturday was a very Christmasy kind of day. We headed over to my mom's house to partake in the many activities that were going on around her. We started with the Walk Through Bethlehem at her church. Loren had a great time in the make-shift Bethlehem...seeing the live nativity, doing crafts, and learning about the Bible times. They also had real snow where Loren and Grammy made a little tiny snowman.
We then headed to another Christmas celebration at a local shopping center...this one had pictures with Santa, train rides, petting zoo, crafts and Frosty the Snowman and Rudolf (to which Loren quickly realized that it was someone dressed up in the costume....you can't fool her with those oh so not real looking costumes!)
To end the day we loaded the girls up in their Christmas pjs to go look at lights in the neighborhood I grew up in...Prestonwood Forest. Prestonwood is known around Houston for their lights and has been featured on the travel channel http://www.travelchannel.com/Travel_Ideas/Holiday_Getaways/ci.Dazzling_Holiday_Lights.artTravelIdeasFmt?vgnextfmt=artTravelIdeasFmt. Unfortunately it was really disappointing because so many houses had no lights. Definitely not like in the good old days when hardly a house didn't participate, each street had a theme, and it was spectacular. We were pleased to see our old house looked so nice, had lights, and even had resurrected our old stocking since we were Stocking Lane way back when....

We went to Prestenwood too and were disappointed until we saw a sign that says the lights start on the 13th. Guess we will try again this weekend.
