Orlando

Clay and I returned last Wednesday from a wonderful trip to Orlando, FL. Clay was invited by Waste Management to come for a Think Green Forum/client appreciation at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes there. We got to fly in a few days early to extend our trip. My very bestest friend from growing up, Jill, and her husband Elliott and little boy Gavin (who I had never met!) just moved there a month ago, so they picked us up at the airport and we went and walked around Downtown Disney and ate dinner there. We had a great time catching up and enjoying all the sights, and food and drinks too of course :)

Clay and I stayed at the brand new Hilton right by Disney the first 2 nights of our trip. On Monday we had a free day...so we had been trying to decide which Disney park we would visit. Magic Kingdom was out of the question since it would basically be a crime to go without the girls! So we decided on Epcot after we found out the annual Vanity Fair Food and Wine Festival was going on! Two of our favorite things made that decision pretty easy! We had a great time sampling food and wine at all the countries, riding rides (NO LINES!!), and walking around.

Taylor Hicks live in concert...you know you are jealous!

Tuesday it was off to the Ritz...and the rest of our trip was first class the whole way to say the least thanks to Waste Management. We had a delicious lunch, and then Clay headed off to an afternoon of golf clinics. WM had flown in one of the top 25 golf instructors and his team of 8 to provide clinics and instructions for the guys (and spouses if they chose). They also had PGA Pro Joe Ogilvie there to play and help...WM is one of his sponsors. While Clay was busy perfecting his game...they treated me (and all the other spouses who didn't choose to golf) to the spa. I decided on a manicure and pedicure. That night we had a delicious dinner and the Think Green Forum...I found it quite interesting all that WM does with our trash to be Green. I'll spare you the details...but it is quite neat! Joe Ogilvie also spoke, and we were all able to ask questions of what life is like on tour...it was fun!

The next day Clay and PGA guys were back on the course for a Shamble (I believe it's called...)...and again...I found myself back in the spa for a massage. Ahh...that was the life. Oh, but not before I went for a run, and then down for breakfast...got my table for one, and enjoyed a delicious, QUIET, breakfast for myself. I went back for lunch...and then met Clay at the golf clubhouse for drinks and awards...and then it was a little bit more relaxing before it was off to the airport :( We had a GREAT time, and were treated like Rockstars the whole time
