The first gift we give

As the holidays are quickly approaching...we didn't want the first gifts we think about to be all about ourselves. The Samaritan's Purse ministry makes it easy for children to think globally. For years we have done Operation Christmas Child where we fill shoes boxes full of goodies and necessities...and now it is so much fun to let each of our girls fill a box. The girls (and me too) have so much fun picking out all the things they think another little boy or girl will like!

We also received the Samaritan's Purse gift catalog where we could browse through and pick things, big or small, to give to families in other countries. Loren and I poured over this, and here is what she decided to give...

Hot Meals to a child for a week
Help a Child Learn to Read and Write
Give Clothing and Shoes
Milk for a child for a week
Life Saving Mosquito Nets (with all the pesky skeeters around here, she could really understand why a child would need these!)
Baby Chicks
Jesus Love Me Lamb

If you are looking for something big or small to do, and don't know a ministry to get started...go to their website www.samaritanspurse.org and think about giving!! There are also a lot of great videos to watch too :)
